Start early in the morning with a visit to Bali Butterfly Park (Taman Kupu Kupu) Jalan Batukaru, Banjar Sandan Lebah, Wanasari village, Tabanan (5 km north of Tabanan town centre on the road to Mount Batukaru), 8AM-4PM daily. A small but well maintained centre for research and education into butterflies with some very spectacular species on show. Who doesn't like butterflies? Best to visit in the early and mid morning when the butterflies are at their most active.
Then continue your journey to : Alas Kedaton , it is a small natural area about 12 ha. in size. The site features an old temple guarded by hundreds of monkeys. Frequently you can also see huge fruits bats with massive wings resting in the trees. The monkey population in Alas Kedaton is a somewhat less mischievous than at some other locations. With less traffic at this site the monkeys are less aggressive about snatching your personal items.
And finally your driver will take you to Tanah Lot Temple. Tanah Lot is one of the important directional temples in Bali. The temple is located on a rock just offshore. It is said to be the work of revered 15th century Hindu priest Nirartha and forms an important element of Balinese spirtualism and mythology. You will see the magnificent temple perched on a rock just a few metres offshore. There is a footpath to the raised cliff area just to the south from where the views of the temple and the sunset behind it are outstanding.
